Bullying at camp

As you may have seen on our Facebook page, Camp Riverbend held our staff orientation this weekend. For one portion of the training, the staff divided into male and female counselors to learn about bullying from National Anti-Bullying Specialist, Dr. Joel Haber.

We learned about what bullying looks like in different stages and how it specifically can look for the age and gender of our respective campers, We learned some great strategies on how to stop bullying. Perhaps even more importantly we learned how we can best prevent bullying from occurring in the first place.

As parents, you should know that bullying of any kind is not tolerated at Camp Riverbend. We want all our campers to feel this environment is safe for them to continue to grow this summer.

This post has been edited to add the link to the speaker who came to camp over orientation weekend.
