Fun Things To Do With Kids in Somerset County NJ

Join us for a morning of fun activities designed especially for young children ages 3 – 6 (currently in nursery school or kindergarten). Camp Riverbend’s Saturday Club is a morning filled with games, crafts, cooking, music, drama and lots more!

This coming Saturday, February 23rd, we are celebrating all things dinosaurs at Camp Riverbend!! We’ll have dinosaur races, dinosaur fossils, and even dinosaur kale chips (see recipe below).

Saturday Club is a great way for your children to meet, play with, and make new friends! We have visitors from Basking Ridge, Montclair, Warren Township, Madison, Middlesex and surrounding Somerset County towns.

The Saturday Club also meets March 9th, March 23rd and April 6th from 9:30 – 11:00am. You can come for one or more sessions. A parent must stay with their child or children during the Club.

The event is free, but we do ask you to RSVP, as space is limited! Email miriam@campriverbend.com to save your spot!

We also have upcoming events geared towards older children. Check out all the events at our Warren Township Summer Camp Facility!

FROM THE RECIPES OF CAMP RIVERBEND:

Dinosaur Kale Chips

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch of dinosaur kale (called for its bumpy texture, also known as Tuscan Kale)
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Ground Black Pepper

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Lightly brush one side of the kale leaves with some oil and arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet. Lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roast until the leaves are crisp but not browned (about 5 minutes). Serve hot or at room temperature.
